Down to earth comments by Colin Mahony at HP Enterprise on difference between those who have found success at Big Data and organisations which have't
Colin: I think there are vendors out there who are promising that ‘if you buy this big data program, it will change your world.’ But it’s not about creating a data project that’s separated from other parts of the company. The smarter organizations are realizing they need to insert big data and analytics into the everyday processes they already have. Those organizations are making sure that people think beyond all the hype—it’s not just about the technology, it’s about how those technologies are adopted within their existing efforts and using them to foster innovation. To do something like that is differentiated.
