That said, diverting too much of our resources towards developing ‘fast’, ‘bleeding edge’ initiatives at the expense of maintaining the ‘slow’ and traditional operational systems upon which our businesses depend is a pretty risky strategy. Instead, we need to do both. To achieve this successfully requires a mix of different skills, different ways of working and a governance model that recognises, supports and adds value to both alternatives.
