The biggest challenge to any big data analytics project is company culture and structure. Harry Powell at Barclays offers practical advice and I urge all insurance companies to look at this as you are paragons of the siloed organisation.
But same goes for Construction & Engineering, Facilities Management, Healthcare, Retail, Automotive.........
the siloed organisation is the wrong structure for innovation because it is slow, costly and lacks the required skills. To make an impact with data science Product Owners need to take back control of their delivery infrastructure and create an integrated responsive technical product team capable of working closely together to overcome issues quickly and deliver. If you try to deliver new ideas without integrated teams, digital native companies will always beat you, no matter how much resource you expend. I hope I have persuaded you that what you need is an integrated delivery model, but what does this mean in practice?
